Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction
Four Week Class
Four Week Class: Practicing Presence
Time Frame: Class meets for 90-minutes once a week for 4 weeks
Research indicates that a majority of people who develop a sustained mindfulness practice cultivate a greater capacity for dealing with life and work stresses, particularly physical pain, depression and anxiety. Many find practice a doorway into greater well-being. This multi-session workshop series supports participants in cultivating a mindfulness meditation practice of their own. Participants will be introduced to different mindfulness activities in class, then practice these activities at home. In-class activities, written reflections, and home practices will support participants in bringing conscious and deliberate attention to what they are experiencing from moment to moment with curiosity, kindness and without judgment. This examination will encourage participants to connect the theoretical framework of mindfulness to their own practice.
